Christmas is on it’s way!

Well with Jeanne’s help I’ve knit up two purse’s for my niece’s.  Dsc01186 I started the last one! I hope they like them.  I think they are quite cute. Dsc01187 I still have to line and attach the handles. I figure I ought to do all three at once.

I also glued all my noses on all my ornanments, and tied on the strings on and date them! They are done! Dsc01185  HOORAY!! I have to bag them up but that isn’t hard to do! I decided to go with the 3D noses made from sculpy clay, way cuter!  I’m very happy with them I think in the end they may have been easier to make (not to glue on) than the foamy ones would have been!

I also have the body done on the split neck tee, and just the sleeves and collar to do.  I’m REALLY happy with how it fits! I”m tying to make myself finish the last purse before I pick the sleeves up.

Abby is trying to get into the holiday spirit!Dsc01175  Toby is bored with all the Christmas maddness!Dsc01129 I did manage to get my tree up and decorated.  It only took my a week to do it!  I also have most of my decorations up. NOw to clean my house up so It’s not a disaster!!

Not only did  finish my Ribbi, I’ve also been knitting along on my split neck tee froom Knitting pure and Simple. Dsc01114  I’m down to the waist increased.  Another night or two and I should be done with the body.  I love the look of this yarn!  Though it is a bit splitty, but I just have to keep a  bit more of an eye on it, but really once you get moving with it you get a feel for it and it’s not too much of a problem.  I’m hoping to be able to wear this for holiday occasions, since the yarn has a bit of a sheen to it, it’s a bit dressier than regular wool.

I’ve also started knitting some little mice for my catnip mice I’m making for all the cats in my life.  I’ve got 3 of 6 knitted up and lightly felted.I just scrubbed them up in the sink with my hands and some hot water. Dsc01116  I need to get some fresh catnip at the ole pet store this weekend so I can sew them up.

I’ve also started my snowman ornaments last night. Dsc01133 I’ve glued on the earmuffs and eyes, and drew on the smiles. Now to cut out and attach all the noses.  I have presticky foamy paper but it’s a pain to cut so I may just buy a plain sheet cut it and glue it on to the bells.  I’m also thinking about getting some polimer clay and trying to make some 3D noses….

Monogamous Knitting

I wish I was a monogamous knitter, or crafter really.  I have so many projects of various types in various stages of doneness.  I mean if I could do one (or even say 5 projects) at one time, I might accomplish something.  I mean finish all the way.  OK I did work only on the fetching gloves, but that project took like 4 hours. I should lay out all my projects in various states of doneness and take a picture.  OH wait, My camera couldn’t fit it all in in one picture!  Lets see even if I did it only with my knitting, I have about 7-10 scarves going right now.  Plus lets see…Ribbi, SKB, Abigail(which by the way may be coming out to large so it may have to go to time out), Tempting II..do that’s 4 sweaters I can think of  so probably 6 sweaters, and a pair of socks….That’s not counting the yarn with specific projects in mind…that be another 20 projects NOT counting socks!  I could move onto my quilting where I have about 4-5 Block of the Months, with the 12 blocks done ready to be put together into tops for quilting.  Plus a few that just need the binding sewn down, and the storage container of finished tops that need to be quilted, OH yeah I have a few kits there too. And I have stamps, and beading projects too.  I enjoy them all.  They are fun!

Please tell me that I”m not totally insane!  I do go back and finish stuff.  I guess it’s just my nature. I just wish I could make my self finish a project after I start-straight through.  Things would get done faster that way. But then I’m not enjoying myself and that’s the point of my craftyness.  It helps keep my sane and happy.  When I get bored with 1 project I go to another.  Like I”m bored with Abigail, so I went back to the last sleeve of Ribbi.  OK I told myself I’m going to finish this one before I start anything new…it is so close now!  Wish me LUCK!!!

I went Shopping

Well I was inspired by the comments on the SKB KAL I decided that I’d try to make some of my own stitch markers.  After a quick search I found Wormspit, he’s got great directions for making stitch markers! So off I went to the local craft store and bought tooo many beads.Dsc00969  I think I need to return some!  Because I couldn’t find the toggles I wanted.  (I didn’t want to use jump rings because I was afraid that they would snag, the one cutesy one I had snags).  So I went to WalMart! Dsc00966 and wow they not only had the toggles, but a ton of cute, cheap beads so I bought a bunch there too! I did sort through and picked a few things to return to the first store.  Like I really need to be able to make a thousand stitch markers….Any who here’s a peek at my first attempts.Dsc00972 They came out really cute.  So I plan on making a bunch more this weekend.  Everything is all spread out on my kitchen table!I’m still plugging along at my SKB.  I’m working on getting my lst set of increases done. I WILL get it joined in the round this weekend!

Have a great weekend everyone!
